Surfing at Maderas beach
Nicaragua is a swell magnet, with solid South swells and some of the best point breaks, rock reefs and beach breaks in Central America.
Nicaragua features some of the best surf spots in the Pacific and still remains largely unknown to most of the surfing community. The long surf season spans 9 months from March to November and makes for an endless summer.
Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America, is only a few miles inland, and causes the wind to blow offshore pretty much year-round. The offshore winds groom the swells into clean hollow lines and perfect shaped barrels daily.
