San Juan del Sur

Located in the hills just east of San Juan del Sur there is a great canopy tour. This is a perfect way to spend an afternoon enjoying the jungle in southern Nicaragua.

La Flor Turtle Sanctuary
About 30 minutes south of San Juan del Sur is the largest turtle nesting sanctuary in Nicaragua. La Flor is famous for it’s arribadas when thousands of Olive Ridley and Leatherback turtles flock to the beach to lay their eggs.

Surf Trips
There are many different charter boats that will take you to the surf spots around San Juan del Sur and all over southern Nicaragua. There is no better way to see the coast than from the water.

Fishing Charters
The waters around San Juan del Sur are famous as being some of the best in Nicaragua for sport fishing. There are marlin, roosterfish, mackerel, jacks, tuna, sailfish and many others.

O Sole Mio
Beachfront Italian Restaurant located on the north end of town. Great place to view the sunset over some wine and good eats. Make sure to try the squash-bacon pasta dish or the lemon veal.

Iguana bar
Iguana bar is located on the intersection between the main road into San Juan del Sur and the beach road. Home of excellent shrimp or chicken quesadillas. Igauna is also the spot to go on a Friday or Saturday night. The bar usually closes around 1am follow the local bartenders to the next spot and you can't go wrong.

Republika
Located in the center of San Juan del Sur, Rebublika is a small and quaint bar offering a more laidback atmosphere with soft acustic beats. A great place to get the night started, also home of the hookah and apple tobacco.

Marie's Bar
Located on the main road of San Juan del Sur just one house of the ocean. Marie's is one of the oldest bars in San Juan del Sur. It tends to be a good social spot for Saturday nights and an off beat bar during the day.

Discos in San Juan del Sur

Cangrejo Loco
San Juan del Sur's one and only discotheque. Located on the north end of San Juan del Sur just a couple of spots from Bambu Bar. This place begins to open its doors on the weekend after midnight. Saturday's tend to be more hectic.
