Born in Nicaragua, Julio then moved to the U.S. at a young age and lived there for more than 10 years. In 1991 Julio and his family returned to a democratic Nicaragua. Upon graduating from the University of Michigan with Political Science and History degrees in 2002 Julio moved back to Managua to pursue a teaching career.
